I was so excited to dive into this conclusion in this duet. After everything that happened in the first book, with how the first book ended, I was hoping for some really juicy, mind-boggling things to happen in this one...This picks up right where Even Money left off. I was waiting for the action to happen. Waiting for trickery and deceit. Even Money pretty much dictated that for this book. However, that wasn't how things played out. I was almost instantly deflated when things were revealed so quickly.
I needed more in this book. It was good, but I expected much better, especially from this author. There was way too much inner dialogue, especially considering what needed to happen in this book. I found myself wanting to skim to find the good parts. I didn't though, I kept going, hoping there would be some pieces that I could cling to in all of the inner monologues between the characters.
The book got really good closer to the end. It was definitely what I had hoped for from the beginning of the book. It just took a while to get there.
Overall, the duet is a good story. It will mostly keep readers wondering how things will play out and how these characters will get their happily ever after. It's definitely worth a read!

Double Down All In Duet Book 2 edition by Alessandra Torre Romance eBooks Reviews
I was in need of a little romantic suspense and this duet ticked the boxes. All In, book one, had me on the edge of my seat and pulling for Dario and Bell. I even wanted an HEA for Gwen. But with a family like hers, we knew something was going to go down and we were left with a cliffy for a couple of weeks waiting to see what Miss Torre was going to do to our characters and if things were going to explode and tear everything to shreds.
"He dominated and heated, reassured me and begged in that kiss, a part of us broke apart and then fused back together."
Book two was fast paced in some parts, unbelievable in others and unfortunately didn't excite me as much as book one. BUT, it was still a good conclusion and it made me hate the bad guys (Gwen's dad was a real piece of work) and wanted vengeance for others. I wanted everyone to open their eyes a bit more to their surroundings. But I guess that's what makes a mystery or thriller. You let your guard down and make decisions that you wouldn't have in the first place.
If you want some thriller with your romance, you've got it. I wanted more out of the story as it seemed to wrap up too neatly in a bow and had some really unbelievable outcomes in some parts of it (the jail and bits and whatnot), but overall, it was a decent ending to the duet. It just seemed to run it's course and "tick off the boxes" in what it needed.
I'm not sure how to write this review. Where to start it. Firstly, Alessandra is a one click author for me and will be even when I finish writing this review. I loved the first book and was extremely looking forward to Double Down. But I was disappointed. Overall it was a good story and ended the way I wanted. But I felt the story was rushed. It did have some suspence, but it was like she ticked off her subjects on her fingers and once she'd written the topic that was it. I was left wanting more. I'm not even really sure what more it needed but I just felt it was lacking. Thank you.
Although it was a step up from book one,I was still disappointed. The love story and characterizations are a bit frivolous and Torres expert timing wasn't there on this one.The suspense was all compacted near the end and quickly terminated while the earlier portion dragged.l finally got a glimpse into Belle's personality via the" letter" but much too little to late while Dario to me,remained superficial ,stilted on legs of his inexplicable insta love and lust for the heroine.
I have been with Ms Torre since Blindfolded Innocence and am a fan. It pains me to critique and I will continue to look forward to her future endeavors.
Double Down is the 2nd book in the All In Duet, and cannot be read as a standalone.
I don't want to give any spoilers, especially since the two books released close together, there might be a lot waiting for the conclusion to be released before diving in.
What I can tell you is that Alessandra Torre did it again. Double Down was thrilling, suspenseful and erotic. After the ending of Even Money, I was dying to know what happened next. Just as things seemed to calm down for these two, another twist came out of nowhere and I was left guessing what was going to happen next.
Dario is the type of Hero that I love. A little arrogant when you first meet him, but as you get to know him, alongside our heroine, Bell, you fall just as quickly in love with him. This was pretty close to a five-star read. As a whole the duet is fantastic and a five-star series - another book that just proves that Torre doesn't disappoint!
