After reading the story you can try your hand at making some of the items that characters refer to in the book. All the patterns, photographs/illustrations and designs featured are by De-ann Black.
You can make lots of things including a fashion cowl, silver tip wrap, gold stole, silver white muff, vintage cloche hat, bobble hat, wrist warmers, tea cosies and softies, scarves, brooches and necklaces. Knit a snowman, a bumblebee and butterfly softie. Make bows and knitted flower accessories. Knit fairy cake wrist warmers. 40 patterns/templates suitable for knitting and sewing are included.
Story
Tilsie is hired by Agnes to help with the marketing of her knitting shop in Edinburgh. Tilsie is a marketing consultant who also loves to knit, and becomes involved in the shop's Wednesday night knitting bee.
The knitting bee members are busy knitting woolly hats, gorgeous wraps, scarves, festive jumpers, tea cosies, cosy blankets and lots of things for Christmas, as well as gossiping about men and romance.
Having had her heart broken, Tilsie has decided to put romance on the back burner and concentrate on her work. But when she meets, Ewan, the handsome owner of a beautiful home accessories shop near Agnes' knitting shop, and rich businessman Stewarton, Tilsie wonders if she's made the right decision.
The Christmas Knitting Bee is filled with knitting, romance, gossip and fairytale vintage dresses, and a mischievous Santa with a wonky squeaker.
Note
The Christmas Knitting Bee features a few characters from other popular romances by De-ann. It includes Agnes and her knitting shop from The Christmas Chocolatier and Delphine and Hetty from The Fairytale Tea Dress Shop in Edinburgh.
About the Author
De-ann Black is a bestselling author, traditionally published for over 15 years, with more than 50 books published. She's also a scriptwriter and former newspaper journalist.
She worked as marketing editor for a glossy magazine, helped organise fashion shows and photo-shoots, trained for many years in martial arts, and was a full-time newspaper journalist. De-ann loves to sew, knit and is also a fabric designer and artist. And she loves to bake cakes.

All right, listen to me, you all who love knitting, crocheting, yarn and the likes (oh, and yummy treats too)!If you like sweet little books involving your passions (as above described), you totally will love this book. It was adorable, and while I was reading it, I jumped several times from it to Pinterest (I a, addicted), in order to,visualize better all the cute things described in this book (this will add quite a few pins to my boards -Veronique Bise-, believe me! To my delight, the end of the book is filled with adorable patterns and pictures to create the items the book mentions. If that is not cute, I don't know what is??!! As my reading budget allows, I will purchase and read more of books from this same author, and if Amazon fancies giving me some for free in exchange for a review, I will be all for it! Follow suit ladies!!!! And let me know if you agree with me (you better do, lol).

Delightful story of friendship and not giving up. Great to reactivate crafting interests, knitting and sewing.
easy quick read.
I loved the complete series
Fabulous read and patterns included feel good book if you love knitting and a bit of romance this book is for you and is a quick read that makes you feel as if you are in the knit store with the characters
I usually love DeAnn Black's novellas. They are usually lots of fun with just enough romance to add sparkle to the story. But, occasionally as with many a prolific author Black just misses to delight and sadly this one was a clinker.
Unfortunately the entire tone of this story is just kind of melancholy. The aborted romance with Ewan was inevitable as he was a jerk. But, her constant avoidance of a romance with Stewarton becomes ridiculous and makes the heroine just look weak and yet her other actions running her business and life do not fit the romantically challenged wimp depicted.
I wanted to like this one, but the tone was just too joyless compared to many of Black's other works i.e. any of the Oops series.
